SHOW OFF YOUR SMILE, NOT YOUR BRACES

Invisalign Braces

Your treatment will start with a consultation with John Wykes our Invisalign® clinician, who will examine you, talk to you about your personal goals for your smile and develop a computer model of your treatment. This will show where your teeth are at the start of the process and map out the journey to the prescribed position. Once you have reviewed the plan with one of our clinicians, we will arrange for a set of bespoke Invisalign® aligners to be made just for you.

You’ll wear each clear and comfortable aligner for two weeks, before moving on to the next in your series of aligners. As each is slightly different from the last, they will move your teeth gradually into the desired position. During treatment you will visit us periodically – usually every two months – so we can monitor your progress and provide you with your next set of aligners.

Mr Wykes is proud to be a Gold Status Provider of Invisalign® and we have seen many success stories in our practice.

Invisalign® FAQs

What types of dental problems can Invisalign® correct?

Invisalign® helps to correct a broad range of dental and orthodontic issues, including gaps, crooked teeth, crowded mouths, widely spaced teeth, crossbite, overbite and underbite.

Who is suitable for Invisalign®?

Many people are suitable for Invisalign®, as the treatment can be tailored to individual needs. Adults suffering from a range of orthodontic concerns may be suitable, as are people who wish to improve their smile for their wedding. Teenagers with orthodontic issues may be suitable for Invisalign® Teen.

Will people be able to see my Invisalign® aligners?

As Invisalign® clear braces are transparent, custom-fit and removable; hardly anyone will be able to notice you are wearing the aligners. It is also ok to remove them for special occasions, as long as this is not too regular or for a very long period of time.

How long does Invisalign® treatment take?

Every case is unique to the individual, so treatment lengths will vary. However, the average treatment is 10 to 18 months.

Can I eat and drink when wearing my Invisalign® aligners?

You can remove you Invisalign® aligners, so you can eat and drink whatever you like.

Is Invisalign® treatment painful?

Invisalign® clear braces have no metal or sharp edges like traditional wire braces and they do not cause allergies. At the beginning of each new stage of treatment a new aligner, which is slightly different, is inserted. At this point, some people may experience temporary, minor discomfort or the feeling of pressure for a few days. This is perfectly normal as it is a sign that the aligners are working properly and moving your teeth gradually into your desired position. This discomfort typically goes away after a couple of days.
