Occupation:

Reason for BEING a Dentist:
I enjoy being a Dentist because you have an opportunity to change peoples lives for the better.

About Me:
I lived in Whickham from birth until i left to go to university 1995. I studied Dentistry at Newcastle university and achieved bronze medal award in basic sciences. After a further two years studying I was awarded the Diploma in General Dental Practice by Royal College of Surgeons in 2006.

My main interest within dentistry is dental implants and I completed the highly regarded one to one dental implant course at sheffield university in 2009. I hope to study for a MSc in dental implantology in the near future. I held the position of honorary clinical lecturer on the endodontic department (root fillings) for two years. I was responsible for overseeing the clinical learning of fourth year dental students.

Outside of dentistry I am a Newcastle United fan and have just started to learn to play the guitar – could be a while until i make it to the big stage though. Most of my time is spent with my family but where possible i do follow motorsport but in particular formula 1 and moto GP.

I train at a local Taekwondo club twice a week and compete in sparring competitions whenever possible.
