Invisalign – Steph’s Story

I am nearing the end of my Invisalign treatment, lasting just over a year.

I’d developed a complex about my teeth which meant I hated smiling, my front teeth stuck out and my jaw was too small. I was offered orthodontic treatment as a child to correct this overjet, but unfortunately my mam declined as she was worried it would alter my facial aesthetics.

The beauty of Invisalign is that it lets you see the end results of your treatment, before you even start. You are shown a digital simulation demonstrating how your teeth will move.

Both my mam and I agreed my facial portrait would not be altered with this treatment, just my smile. I decided to choose Invisalign as the treatment option to correct my smile as the braces are nearly invisible and wouldn’t make me feel any more self-conscious. Many of my friends are unaware that I even wear braces.

I wear them every day, removing them just to eat and drink. To date I still haven’t felt any discomfort from wearing the aligners, in fact I forget that I am even wearing them, they have become part of my habitual life. Thanks to the treatment I feel so much more confident, able to smile without hiding behind others.
