Our 2018 challenge – the National 3 Peaks
For our Charity Challenge this year, the team are attempting the National 3 Peaks Challenge to raise funds for Gibside School, based in Whickham and Blaydon, a school dedicated to inspire, motivate and challenge children with special educational needs and disabilities.
We are hoping to raise £2000 for an interactive screen for one of their classrooms – a key piece of equipment.
The challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. That’s Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.
In total, 3064 vertical meters will be climbed with 23 miles (37km) of walking. Add to this the 462 miles of driving all of which have to be completed within 24 hours and you are left with a formidable challenge!
The challenge takes place on Saturday 1st September and we hope our family, friends, and our wonderful patients, will support us by either:
- donating (every little penny helps!),
- buying raffle tickets with great prizes donated by the fantastically supportive small businesses of Whickham, or
- attending our Cake & Bake Sale at the practice on the day of the challenge.
Bring It On!!!!!
