As usual, my experience of my appointment with Mr Andrew Dixon was highly satisfactory. The process of his placing new bridges in the lower gum/jaw was meticulous, creative and thorough. He kept me informed throughout in his easy-going, supportive way, which is highly professional. This is the latest appointment during a lengthy course of complex treatment, throughout which I and my family have been well looked after. The friendliness of all the staff at the Whickham Dental Practice gives the place a good vibe.

As always, my experience with Whickham Dental Practice was great. Always gentle and never rushed. I don’t have to worry about going to the dentist anymore. All the staff, from reception to treatment room are so friendly. Couldn’t rate Andrew Dixon any higher.

I cannot praise the staff highly enough
I have been attending the practice for nearly 30 years and regularly drive the 146 mile round trip to the practice. My husband and I would never go anywhere else. As a nervous patient I cannot praise the staff highly enough particularly my own dentist Mr Wykes.

Faultless
As always the care and treatment given was faultless. All staff are friendly, helpful and professional. I could not be in better hands. The fact that I have been coming here for over 50 years and still have all my teeth speaks for itself. I would not trust the care of my teeth to anyone else.

Fantastic dentist, John Wykes is amazing, the best dentist I have ever used, so professional & skilful, always a pleasure to visit the practice.

Awkward filing
Fantastic dentist John Wykes, I have a terrible gag reflex which affects my treatment. John is very sympathetic & skilled & manages to avoid setting off my gag reflex. Considering I retch most times when brushing my teeth I don’t know how he manages to avoid causing me discomfort & embarrassment when I need treatment. Thank you so much.

I registered with Whickham Dental Practice yesterday on recommendation by my daughter and son-in-law who are registered patients. I was extremely impressed by the reception staff who made the registration process very clear and simple. There was an appointment available for an initial assessment by dentist Paul who was extremely organised and professional as was his dental assistant Mary.

I attended for a new patient review! Paul was incredibly informative. My little boy was booked for the following week but he also kindly squeezed him in. Very happy. Thank you.

Emergency appointment
Phoned up for an emergency appointment and got one the same afternoon. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. Paul the dentist took so much time and effort into finding out the problem and although he couldn’t fix it that day I was able to get an other appointment some after.

Repair of chipped tooth

Paul explained the treatment to me really well and reassured me throughout the procedure in a calm and friendly way. I was extremely pleased with the results which exceeded my expectations. You can’t see the chip at all and it was repaired quickly and painlessly.

Gentle and caring

Paul is so gentle and caring taking any anxiety away.

‘Calm and gentle’ dentistry
Excellent treatment by Rob. Prepared existing teeth for crowns by fitting temporary ones, pending manufacture of the real crowns, having taken impressions and photographs. As usual, ‘calm and gentle’ dentistry in Whickham. Great work.

Recommend for nervous patients
I saw Robert Gair today. As ever, he is friendly, professional, informative and has a very kind manner. I would recommend him especially for nervous patients. Top marks every time.

Appointment the same morning
Recurrence of pain in a tooth after 2 courses of antibiotics. Mr Gair gave an appointment the same morning, explained that he would drain the infection from behind the tooth (1st part of root canal treatment) and complete treatment next week. He did so, and the pain is gone!

How calm and welcoming everyone was. Didn’t feel like going into a dentist! Mr Gair was gentle and reassuring and explained everything to me as I am a very nervous patient.

Lovely reception team and Claire the hygienist is brilliant.

Thorough & very gentle
Claire the hygienist was thorough & very gentle as I had an infection after having had a tooth extraction previously. Robert Gaire was very gentle also & gave me a prescription for antibiotics. I always feel as if I’m being well looked after when visiting the dentist.

A lovely dental practice
So glad we found such a lovely dental practice when we moved to the area. Kerry and Claire have been so gentle friendly and kind during my appointments. The reception staff are very welcoming and helpful. A very professional, caring approach from all staff.

I love going to Whickham Dental Practice. The people are friendly and very professional, particularly Caroline Campbell who is the Hygienist and Robert Gair, my Dentist.

Exceptional
Regular hygiene appointment with Caroline. She has treated me many times over the years. In my opinion she is exceptional at her job. Always feel calm and relaxed when she is carrying out the appointment. She will point out where I need to improve my daily cleaning and has always been aware of how I prefer to be treated.

Hygiene Appointment
I saw Caroline and Mary today and received my usual friendly welcome which immediately puts me at ease. Caroline gave me excellent advice for my dental hygiene on how best to avoid dental decay by prioritising my gum health. All in all a very positive regular hygiene visit.
